What is a HUG and why would you need one?

by Gemma Rogers on 28-Sep-2016 16:21:08

The idea of being invited to a HUG may seem, at first, a little surprising. Don't worry. It's not some  up-close invasion of your personal space dreamt up by Marketing - physical contact is strictly optional. A HUG is actually a HubSpot User Group. It's an opportunity to meet like-minded HubSpot customers, business owners and marketing and sales professionals with a passion for growing their business through inbound marketing.

What to expect at the Cambridge HUG

The Cambridge HUG will be a mixture of educational presentations and informal networking over drinks and canap├ęs. Anyone who is actively practising inbound marketing or has an interest in learning more (you do not need to be a HubSpot customer) is welcome to attend.

Meetings will be held quarterly at Hotel du Vin, Cambridge, with ongoing discussion via the LinkedIn Group in between.

The vision for the Cambridge HUG is to ensure HubSpot Users and interested parties get the most from HubSpot and keep up to date with trends and best practice in inbound marketing, sales and growth driven design, whether you are a customer or not.

The first Cambridge HUG meeting - 3rd November 2016

The first HUG meeting theme is 'Change. And, given the ever-evolving environment we all experience today, this is something every businesses is wrestling with.

For this inaugural event we are delighted to be joined by Ian Rowe, who is an accomplished and talented speaker. Ian will share his experience of how responding to change in the face of adversity saved his life. Ian was part of an attempt to row unsupported across the Atlantic Ocean in under 30 days. Finding out how 'change' happened along the way will literally take your breath away.

Jeremy Knight will then talk about how change can effect your website and introduce Growth Driven Design (GDD) - a new approach to delivering measurable results and business value through web design enabling you to respond, evolve,  grow, and change in response to visitor behaviour. You will also learn why the HubSpot COS is the ideal platform for delivering GDD.

The meeting will end with an opportunity to ask us any questions you may have about the HubSpot platform and network with fellow attendees over drinks (with an open bar on the event host - Equinet Media).  The meeting is free to attend, but you will need to register here to reserve your space.

Join in the conversation

In addition to the quarterly HUG meetings, please join the Cambridge HUG LinkedIn Group. The group is for everyone to share ideas and useful content, ask questions and keep up to date with future event plans as well as questions on the HubSpot platform.

We will be using the Twitter hashtag #HUGCAM and if you sign up for updates via the website, you will receive related blog posts direct to your inbox.

The HUG is very much a collaboration. If you have any thoughts, requests on topics or suggestions for future meeting ideas, then please do drop us a line or reach out via social.
